1972 C60 Fire Truck to Wedge Bed
Just purchased local city firetruck. Its a 1972 Chevy C60 12k miles. It was purchased back in ard 1980 by a local car dealership , its been in storage in garage with concrete floor since then. The car dealership owners were car collectors. They used to start and drive the fire truck around the farm from time to time but it hadnt been started in around 8 years. They pulled the hose from the gas tank it fired right up carb is gunky of course, just pulled it (factory holley) rebuilding it new fuel pump plugs wires , pulling the bed off to make if cant find a wedge bed for it. It doesnt look like it has actually ever even been sit in. Zero rust top to bottom, minus the brake boosters. They are crap gonna try to figure out where to buy new ones.
My big question concern is.. How what to do with the two piece wheels etc. They have to go, trying to find a step by step or a how to etc, Old old man with a big scrap yard and old trucks said i could just stick one piece wheels off of something and call it a day, i seriously doubt its gonna be that easy. This is me and my sons project. probably put air bags on it so can drop for car shows etc, also haul the 71 gmc c10, Im going to use it for my mowing business i do on the side to haul my two orange mowers, I think it will handle the weight of the mowers https://imgur.com/a/XQwVvG2 Last edited by Skydaddy; 07-25-2024 at 07:58 PM. |
