71 rear brake cylinder interference question
Greetings
Replaced the rear shoes and cylinders on my 71 C10 1/2 ton. My question has to do with the way the rubber seal on the cylinders is 'squished' by the locating brackets/pivot. The replacement cylinders had the same interference issue with the bracket. Is this normal and 'just the way it is'? It certainly works but the boot is somewhat distorted and just doesn't seem right to me. I'm trying to upload a pic of the original cylinder and seal but the replacement looked identical. I was slightly tempted to grind off the offending bracket a bit but thought 'it worked like that for x years so it must be okay'. Any hints/comments???
