Problems installing a 4-core! Help!!!

Hey guys, I am working on my truck(1967 GMC) again a little anyway! LOL The problem I am having is when I install the radiator(4-core) with the 4-core brackets and rubbers the radiator sits up to high and the top mounts will not work when I take the bottom brackets off and use the rubbers only it is still to high the thickness of the rubber. I can remove the bottom bracket and rubber then it sits prefect and the top mounts are fine. I know I have the right brackets, rubbers, and radiator. Whats the problem???? Please Help!
