a Restore'er
Has anyone heard of a fellow or place in Abilene TX name Garry who restores old chevys in this age group...you can take yours to him or buy one he has already done.
A buddy of mine saw a fellow at a gas station with a beautiful 69 chevy p/u on a flatbed trailer that looked like it drove off the showroom floor in that everything was new and orginal. (even warning labels and stickers I believe) my buddy asked if he was going to a show and he told him that he just bought it and told him about this place in TX. I didn't see the truck but it was like buying a new 69 p/u from what my buddy was saying. I think it was $18,000 for redone complete truck and he didn't take him one. I was curious if anyone has heard of him. I have a ph number but haven't had a chance to call but since I'm still in the looking stages I don't plan to anytime soon. But I was thinking if you can bring your own as much work you do yourself the better the price as anywhere else but it beats ordering parts from a half dozen different places to restore one (depending on this fellow's price) but I'd be happy with body work and buying parts and picking it all up and save labor cost and do installs myself on the redone body/frame...but body-work is something I don't want to do too much b/c of my abilities are sub-par to my standards! I need practice but my past work has not helped defer cost and may have added to it trying to sand and primer myself or bondo etc... Well Just enquiring JT |
