Rear Axle interchange
I noticed a posting about going to five bolt on the rear. Let's not get into 6 bolt selection cause I've yet to see a Torque-Thrust with a 6 bolt pattern.
My question is, what axles are interchangable on our trucks? Can you go with newer like the mid 70's? Or is it just 71-72 12 bolts? I've heard of guys doing something with a mid 60's truck by swapping the axles. I like the 5 spoke wheels and already run 5 bolt on the front. Just trying to do a poor mans swap (eventually). And I'm talking just the axles, not the entire rearend and housing.
