New To Board

I have been watching this board for a long time and have got alot of good info, thanks. My K5 is a 72 i use it as a daily driver, hunting, fishing and hauling the dog.
IF I could get some opinions on an engine swap. It curently has a 305 in it from late model Chevell 79 model I think. It is very tired and cant pull it'self out of a minor mud hole. I want to put in a new crate motor.
