Question 4 Core Radiator Install Problem

Got a 67 that started life with a I6 which I swapped to a 305. Finally got around to putting in a 4 core radiator. Problem is that it sticks up too tall for the top mount brackets to bolt down flush on the frame without using a spacer of about 1/2 inch. I did the following:

1) New 4 core upper & lower radiator mount brackets and rubbers.
2) Notched the back of the radiator mount pan so that the wider 4 core brackets will seat down flush.

The radiator is from Autozone and I have cross checked the part number and it is the one that everyone seems to list for this application. I believe the part number reference is GM 43-3369 if memory serves me right.

Anyone run across this problem or give me a hint to what I did / didn't do ??

Thanks in advance!!
