best place to mount fuel regulator??

i think i'm gonna try to get a fuel pressure regulator for christmas, it should help with my engine running very very rich at idle.
i think the one i want is the Aeromotive standard regulator.(jegs part# 027-13201)
it has -06AN ports and is adjustable from 5-12psi and has a gauge port on it too.

the carb i have is the 650cfm edelbrock avs. i'm using the dual feed line with billet fuel filter with all -06an fittings.

what will be the best place to mount the regulator. the way the carb feed line is, it goes along the pass. side of the carb and stops at the heater hose fitting in the intake. thats where i have the braided line ran down to the fuel pump. the pump is a 110gph holley mech. fuel pump.

would i have a problem mouting the regulator right after the fuel pump??
