differance between motor mounts

I tried a seach for a thread on this..but didn't exactly find what i was looking for:

are small block and 6cly stands the same? just the position is further back for the 6cly??

how much further foward should they be for a small block?....i noticed that there are 3 hole on the top side of the frame..the back two are currently taken by the "6cly" mount and the furthest toward the front is open. do you just move the tower to the front two holes and drill a new hole in the crossmemner for the bottom bolt to put the stands in the "V-8" Position???

I guess the V-8 will fit in the 6 position..but clearance is a little tighter in the back...and the other thing that i'm guessing is that the SBCShroud wouldn't be as effective...or can you overcome that problem by using a long style waterpump???

I'm just assuming all this stuff..so please correct me/help me out if you know...i appreciate it

Thanks,
Andy
