305 V6 Common?

I called Jegs earlier this week to order an intake manifold to replace my cracked one. To my surprise, the operator said nobody makes a one for my 305 V6! I notice most here have V8 or I6 motors. Are the V6 motors that uncommon for early GMC's?

I'm having the manifold repaired, so no big deal. But I am somewhat concerned about parts availability for stuff I need specific to the V6.

Last night, while eating far too much turkey, my brother-in-law indicated that many parts can be had from any 70's V6 car motor. I'm skeptical.
