Question Heater Hose Connections?

I seem to be short one heater hose connection!
I have a 1975 350 in my 67 C10 that was a six. The original motor had a heater hose connection on the water pump but the V8 pump does not and was designed so one hose went to the radiator. I do have a connection on the manifold too.

Is there a way I can use this pump and my original radiator. I am trying not to break the budget here. I put the V8 in the six position so I want to keep the long pump. I noticed that the V8 pump has a temp sending unit in it on top, could I put a heater hose fitting in there?

How have others set this up? Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated and I'll buy the next round.
Thanks.
