5 speed manual trans for 67-72 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I will appreciate any info about posible bolt-in replacement of original 4 speed gearboxes with the 5 speed New Venture trans used in Chev trucks in the 90s. I have been told that the NV 3500 series is an easy fit replacement.

Does this work? Any serious wrinkles or mods involved? Is there a 4wd model of these units? Do they have PTO access?
