Speaker direction / location?

I have decided to build my own speaker kick panels from the great information shared on another post. Thanks to all involved. The question I have now is do I need to direction the speakers on the kick panel toward the passengers or where. I will be using Alpine 6.5" with seperate 1" tweeter. I am also using 4.5" 2 ways in the original dash location. Using a Alpine head unit at 50W x 4 should I amp the 6.5" speakers? Does the size of the kick panel matter?
