Need Tailgate Window Parts!
Ok, I just bought an '89 Blazer and the rear power window was inoperative. I figured out that the person I bought it from just had it wired wrong, so I was able to fix the motor. My problem is this: The mechanism was so sticky from grease, goo and excess friction that it was drawing over 50 amps trying to move the regulator arms even without the window attached! So anyway, I can clean up most of the stuff and make it work but I think somebody has taken it apart before because there seems to be some parts missing. What I need is this:
I think there should be something inside the end of that worm gear that supports the end of the shaft. I don't expect anybody to have one of those lying around (but you never know) but maybe a busted window transmission that you could scavenge some pieces out of? If nothing else, maybe somebody has the whole transmission? Or maybe the whole regulator assembly? Oh, and is something missing here? It just seems awfully open and exposed. I could use one of the rear gate switch/faux handle assemblies, too. Mine was all corroded to hell, so I'm just going to disconnect it for now. Thanks!
