Exhaust manifolds for Vortec heads?

I know this must have been covered a bunch of times....wish I knew how to search past threads.

If I switch to Vortec heads can I use my stock exhaust manifolds?

I know I need a new intake, just can't remember about exhaust.

My truck has about 40,000 on a crate motor and me thinks the valve guides are leaking oil into the cylinder heads, making starting it a bit rough especially when its cold. Instead of fixing that, why not get some used Vortecs!? (Will my wife buy this?)

If I just want decent stock performance does anyone know what head numbers I should look for (not concerned about high lift cams).

Thanks again.
