Clutch help PLEASE!

My clutch is acting very strangely. First I couldn't get it into gear after starting the truck.. the gears would just grind. I just drove the truck home from the first shop that Iwent to. They told me my pressure plate had bent prongs, so I decided to pull the engine and change the clutch. Went I went to drive the truck home, I COULD change gears, but when I got the clutch almost to the floor it would get stiff, then sortof pop and go the rest of the way!!!! Has this happened to anybody else. I'm about to pull the engine, but was wondering if maybe just some linkage could be bent or something. Thanks for any ideas!
