Question Coil Springs: Cut or Not?

When I bought my truck it was halfway through a restoration. Unfortunately I could not talk to the previous owner to ask any quetsions about what he had already done. Anyways when I first jacked up the car to start on converting the front drums to discs I noticed that when the truck was up in the air the front spring were loose in the perches. I thought that even when the truck was in the air there would still be some tension on the springs. Do you guys think that the previous owner cut the front coil springs? Here are a couple of pictures of the springs out of the truck. I want to put stock height springs in the truck because I bought dropped spindles and I don't want it any lower right now. Maybe someone could measue stock height springs for me so I can compare them with the measurements I took of my springs.

Thanks for your help.
