Looking at a 72 C-10 4x4...what should I look for?
My first truck was a 1971 Chevy. Always wanted another...now I have the $$$ and time to get one.
Thursday I'm going to look at a 1972 1/2 ton 4x4. It is a Cheyenne auto with 350. My question to all of you is what should I be looking out for...the good, the bad, the ugly? I know the rust issues (rocker pannel, cab corner). Are there any quirks / options / things that make one truck better than another? Or make a truck a "must have." Are there any things that would make me say "heck no, not this truck", aside from tons of rust. I plan to do much of the work myself -- body, mechanical, engine, etc. Would convert to manual transmission. This will be a project truck. Thanks for the word, Daubs
