There is no body filler thicker than 1/16”. The only visible rust in the truck when it was restored was in the rocker panels, which were replaced, and a small amount at the bottoms of the kick panels (new sheet metal was welded in). There are no dents to speak of on any of the panels. The panels all line up nicely with each other. Gaps between panels are straight. The driver door closes easily. The passenger door seals are a little stiff. Since then, the clear coat has started to peel on the left side of the hood, along the back edge of the cab, and on the bed rails. The grille has a lot of rock chips. The paint is worn off of the front edges of the bed steps. There are a lot of small chips and scrapes here and there in the paint. The windshield has minor pitting and one small chip, but no cracks. Rust spots have appeared on the lower corners of the driver door. The passenger door is perfect (it’s a ’72 model so it has an extra screw hole on the inside). Rust has developed on the bottom of the passenger bed fender. A small group of bubbles have appeared on the back of the cab on the passenger side where the floor is attached. There is a very small spot of rust on a seam in the bed side above the driver side step. The front bumper has a 1” spot where the chrome has peeled off. The chrome is pitted. The rear bumper is in perfect condition. The oak in the bed is showing its age, but is solid. A couple of the boards are bowed a bit at the ends. The driver side front inner fender has surface rust spots all over the inside of it where brake fluid damaged the paint. Tires: The front tires are 255-60R15 and have about 40-50% left. The rear tires are 275-60R15 and need to be replaced. Interior: No cracks in the dash pad. Pad is warped a small amount on the edges. Cloth/Vinyl seat upholstery is in decent condition. There are some minor cracks in the vinyl on the top edge of the seat back. Carpet has an oil stain on the left side of the seat (about 4” x 4”—hard to see since carpet is navy blue) Sun visor on driver side only Rear view mirror has some discoloration Truck History: I bought the truck from the original owner in 1992 in Northern California. The truck had an 80s bed on it so I replaced the bed with one that I found in the Sacramento valley that was from the correct year. I found a driver side bed fender from a long bed that didn’t have the spare tire cut-out. The original doors had some rust so I found two that were in better condition. I disassembled the truck and had all the parts media blasted. I then took all the parts to a local body shop to have the body work done, and to have the back sides of the panels painted. I then assembled the truck and had the body shop spray the rest of the paint. I replaced the door seals and the window seals. I have driven the truck every day for the last 12 years. I have put about 90,000 miles on it. The truck has been parked in a garage for the majority of the time I have owned it. I have been consistent about performing regular maintenance. I have all maintenance written down. I recently installed the motor. It was taken out of another truck I recently purchased. I’m not sure what the mileage is, but it doesn’t smoke at all when it starts or when it runs, even if it has been sitting for awhile. The engine does have some valve noise. I’m guessing that the valve rockers just need to be adjusted. The engine starts right up every time, and does not die when shifted into gear. All electrical systems work correctly. Asking Price: $3500 Delivery: I can deliver this truck up to 1000 miles for $1 per loaded mile. I’m in Colorado Springs, CO. I have about 50 pictures if anybody wants to see more Last edited by pjmoreland; 02-06-2005 at 02:04 AM. Reason: Make title more descriptive |
