Q: Parking brake on '72 K20?
History: Truck is a mutt...3/4 ton two wheel drive body on 3/4 ton 4x4 frame and running gear. PO tells me he couldn't make parking brake work, so he installed vacuum line lock(?) for a parking brake. You flip the lock and pump the brakes. It holds the rear brakes locked. Works for about a minute, then the truck starts to roll.
I haven’t been under the truck yet and have not pulled rear drums off (full floater...that's going to be fun). Assuming I have all the needed parts in the rear end, what would it take to put in a standard parking brake back in besides the cable? Pbrake mechanism is still in the cab. Suggestions?
