My "new" '74

Hello,

With the exception of the past year or so, I haven’t done much mechanically for well over ten years. I was mostly a chevy muscle car guy, but recently have purchased a ‘74 GMC 1500 2WD for 950.00. She’s had over $6,000 invested the past two years (receipts provided) in mechanicals and body/paint, but I’m told a 9 y.o. kid took it for a joy ride when the guy left it running and the recently new front bumper needs replacement due to a low-speed sudden stop by brick wall.

The interior is ugly and needs a lift, and there are some things that need TLC, but overall I think I did ok.

Here’s a sampling of what I know has been done:

• re-manufactured 350 less than 30k ago.
• rebuilt brake system front to back
• many replaced suspension components
• all body work done with new fenders and/or metal patch panels.
• floor pans and rockers replaced
• fresh tires
• new bed liner
• bed tool box
• came with aluminum camper cap that looks correct for the year (or very close)

I’ll be soliciting feedback on repairs and recommendations very shortly.

Thanks.........
