Fresh Meat - Now with picture!

Hello, everybody. I just discovered this forum, and it looks like it's just what I've been looking for.

I've got a 1972 GMC l/b in the garage that I've been pouring most of my spare cash into for the last few months, getting it back to rolling/ road worthy shape. It's pretty original, except that about 7 years ago the original 6 banger failed the bottom end, so dad and my brother put in a 350 w/auto from an 81 Chevy. It's an Original Northern Alberta Truck, and a low mileage unit, at that, less than 70,000 original kms.

The truck's been in my garage for the last 4 years, up on jackstands until I got enough cash to put some effort into the truck, as it needed to pass an insurance inspection, and was in need of some TLC for that to happen.

So far, I've sourced 15x8 rallys, and had them powdercoated grey, installed 235/60 front, and 275/60 rear Goodyear Eagle GT II's

ECE delivered 3 boxes last week with a premium drop kit (3.5/5) Super Track Bar, and Swingarm Lowering brackets.

Currently I've got the complete suspension disassembled, sandblasted and painted lower control arms, and waiting for some assorted new hardware to arrive to start re-assembly. Rear trailing arms have the U-bolts completely rusted into them, and I'm sourcing replacements, which should arrive late next week.

Anyway, not meaning to ramble on, but just thought I'd fill everyone in.

Once I get the truck out of the garage, I'll take some pics for everyone to look at.

Cheers,
Chad.

btw, Elsie was Grandma's name, and she drove the truck from when Grandad passed, until she died, so the buildup is a tribute to her, so I thought it would be a fitting name.
