Stock Headliner Questions

I recently cleaned up my door panels and saved myself about 150 bucks by not buying new ones. I was thinking about putting the money I saved towards a stock headliner with chrome trim. What truck package originally came with a headliner? Mine has no evidence of there ever being one up there, but I kind of like the look of them and figure it would be worth doing. Also, how much is involved in installing one and is it worth it? Is the vinyl mounted to some sort of cardboard or is it a plastic? What about the chrome, is it metal or plastic? Thanks!
