Will I need larger rims?

A guy I know has a 1993 C1500 with stock rims (they look like 15"x6.5") and no-name 31x10.5"-15 a/t tires who wants to sell his truck to me. It'd be nice to not have to buy larger rims, but if I like the 31x10.5's I'd rather buy bigger wheels instead of switching to a smaller tire. I've been to BFG's website and they only recommend wheels between 7-9" for that size of tire.
