Steering Column

Not sure if this is the right board, but in my 70 GMC, the steering column shaft where the steering wheel mounts....the threads have been gualled. I tried to take a die and 'chase em' out, but Im not really satisfied with the results. Seems alot of metal has been lost on the shaft. I have a Grant wheel for now, but would like to go to one of the late 80s...early 90s wheel. Allready have a floor shifter to put in for the 3 spd.

Is it easier to change the shaft out, or just find another column?

If changing the column is the better route, I'd like a floor shift column, tilt is even better due to my spare package...lol.

Anyone have any around?..if so..how much to 77535.

Thanks,
Billy G
