Will the H-Pipe give a better sound?

Is there a way to determine where the crossover should be? would it depend on the size of pipe? I heard that you should run new exhaust for about 1/2 Hour, the pipe will darken and that is where the optimum place for the H pipe. If this is true, it would take 2 trips to the muffer shop, who has time for that?

Where does you H pipe fit in your system, how far back from the end of the collector?

Just want to be able to do mine once.
