Help-Detent cable confusion has me stuck - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm trying to cobble together my 350 with Q Jet with a TH350 tranny from a 307 with a two barrel. I have a detent cable but I can't figure from which engine, it won't reach and even if it did I don't know hwere the puppy goes...even though I have three different manuals!! Can anyone tell from the pic if I need a new detent cable, different bracket or different Carb linkage thingy? All the pics I've seen have different style Q Jet throttle arms.
