Tricks for tilt columns with late model wheel

I just installed a tilt to my 71 SWB. The buckets are coming, so I wanted to get this in while there was lots of clearance with the seat out and clean floors.
Late 90s style, leather wheel. Notice the horn wire coming us through the wheel.
...and notice the short shift arm from a late 70s van. It fits so much better with smaller wheels. It is shorter and also comes up higher.
Here's also a pic of a long stock arm for comparison ...and another short shift arm that fits 71-2 non-tilt columns with a few modifications.
