Question A/C Compressor Questions

Hey all, nooby here. Anyway, I have a question about the A/C compressor on the truck I just got. It's a 72 C-20 with A/C, but no belt to the compressor. The person I got the truck from (my dad) said it froze up a number of years ago and he never fixed it, which is pretty rough here in TX.

I can turn the pulley with my hand, but there is a spot where it seems to catch. I would like to get the A/C up and running again, so does anybody know if I should:

A: Get a new compressor w/clutch ($80 from a local guy who said I would also need a new dryer $20).

B: Try to find a junk yard one (do they exist) or just a clutch? Is the clutch something that can be changed out (forgive me, but I've never done any A/C work before).

C: Get a new compressor and convert to R134? Would I need to modify anything else?

D: Just get a belt and see what happens?

Any advice or help is appreciated. I would consider myself a decent mechanic, but like I said, I have no experience with A/C, other than filling my old S-10 with more R12 a couple of times.
