Dang Dave, sorry to hear about that!
Cops can't take prints off the outside of the vehicle. It's an easy defense, they just have to say "I walked by the truck yesterday and was leaning on it looking in the window". Same thing happened when my truck was broken into, perfect greasy prints on the back & side glass. I've got a side vent window, but I think its driver's side. I'll check tonight.
