Driver front brake on 68 (hey that rhymes) is messed up. HELP!
hey guys, once again it's me!
The 68 moves under it's own power now and when i took it out i didn't even get out of 2, not fast enough to put "good" pressure on the pedal. I took it out a couple days ago and i "tested" the brakes, they're good on 3 corners. when i "tested" it pulled hard to the right and left a skid mark on the passenger side when i backed up to look. Darn thing nearly broke my thumb. I got out there today and tried to get the front driver drum off and i can't seem to make it budge. I checked the fluid level and it's plenty full and isn't leaking from the hub. I think it needs to be adjusted but i wanted to take the drum off to check the conditon of the wheel cylinder and shoes. I was reading the FAQ's and found one thread that said you need to take the hub nut off at the center of the hub. Is this true for all Drm drm brakes and how do i do so? I noticed that there's 2 oval shaped holes straight accross from each other on the face of the drum. and i've still got the covers over the end of the hub. enlighten me. thanks sswj
