Ignition removal help

I need to replace my ignition switch my first question is how do I remove it,I don't have the key but can turn it on with a screwdriver(I keep my title in the glove box beacause I can imagine what will happen if a police cruiser rolls up on me jaming a screwdriver in the ignition )next is do I have to worry about putting the steering wheel on"crooked"or does it go on only one way(idiot proof).

I've never done this before.Thanks
