dropped spindles

I have searched the FAQ and back posts and managed to get completely confused.

I am looking at putting 73-87 3" drop front spindles on my 1971 C10 and I have a few questions.

1. I understand that the lower ball joint is the same on the 71 as the 73-87 is this correct?

2. Will the 73-up upper ball joint fit my 71 control arms?

3. Does anybody offer a conversion tie rod end or sleeve that will allow this setup still, if so who?

4. Will my 71 calipers and rotors work with the 73-87 spindles?

5. have I forgotten anything?

I know that a complete crossmember swap is best and easiest but I already have the spindles and all my '71 parts are new.
