My wiring harness doesn't match Help

My starter died on my 72 Friday so I picked up a new one. Once I had the starter out I noticed someone had ran clear speaker wire to the solenoid. I hate to leave things half-@##ed so I pulled out the harness for the starter and was going to rework it. each wire had multiple splices and the only wire that was hooked to anything was the one for the "S"tart post of the solenoid. All the rest were re-ran from inside the cab. In trying to re-do the harness I found the link in the FAQ and tried to decifer my harness, but mine doesn't match the diagram.

The truck is a 72 Chevy with a 402 and air.

I am confused about 4,5,6,7, and 8
Here's how mine is if you are looking at the firewall.

1 = tan 20 gauge - Break Warning OK
2 = dark green 20 gauge - Temp Gauge
3 = empty
4 = Orangish red - "R" of Solenoid ??????
5 = Empty ???????
6 = Empty ???????
7 = Empty ???????
8 = Black w/ white stripe 20 gauge ???????
9 = 12 gauge purple OK
10 = Empty

The diagram shows...
1 = Tan - Break Warning
2 = Dark Green - Temp gauge
3 = Empty
4 = Orange/Purple - "R" of Solenoid
5 = Dark Blue - Oil Pressure
6 = Dark Green - Backing Lamp switch
7 = Light Green - Backing Lamp switch
8 = Empty
9 = Purple - "S" of solenoid
10 = Empty
