Aux tank question.

I have a factory auxiliary fuel tank on my 72 C-20 (option #NL2). I ran my truck out of gas yesterday (right now the cab tank is out and will be replaced) and when i got to the gas station I could only get 13 gallons in. From what I've read, I thought that all factory aux tanks were 19 gallons. Can anybody who has a factory tank tell me how much their tank will hold? Thanks!
