73-87 rear end in 69 truck/burb?

I know this has been covered before but i came up dry in the search. I know the later rears are wider (1.5 inches, i believe). I could take care of this with new wheels w/ different backspacing. are there any other drawbacks to the later rear ends? panhard bar mounting? I want to do a five lug conversion up front and have the rear match, I have a much better chance of getting 73-87 parts than I do finding a 71 or 72 rear end. thanks, steve
