Difference between tilt & non-tilt linkage hookup?

I'm in the middle of replacing my non-tilt column with a correct truck tilt column. But, I notice that the original column has a gear position detent arm (by the shift arm) that the tilt column doesn't. Also, the original shift arm (where it connects to the linkage) comes out at 90 degrees to the column, while the tilt shift arm comes out at about 45 degree to column.

Does the tilt column have an internal detent system?

Does the shift arm on the tilt column come out at 45 degrees, or is mine bent?

Thanks
