lowering my 72 gmc c20

hey guys im gonna start looking into/buying parts to lower my 3/4 ton fleetside lb. i want to go with a 2 1/2 drop spindles and 2 inch springs up front and 4 inch drop leaf springs in the back. now as far as rims go, i have stock 16.5 inch rims. what is the biggest tire i can use and not rub? for the front i will buy new lowered shocks, will i need anything else for the front? for the back what will i need besides the dropped leaf springs? also i was wondering about the front fender wells, is there really anything negative to taking them out besides things getting dirty more easily? also what would a good size tire be for the drop that i want with stock rims? thanks guys
