New to 60 - 66's coming over from 67-72's
Thought I would say hello and Introduce myself. I live in Portales, New Mexico and for sometime have been in to the 67 - 72 truck scene. Always wanted a 62' (my birth year - ya I know Ol' Man) but couldnt located one. was driving home the other day and spotted an early 60's SWB Stepside and stopped to ask, (long story short) ends up it was a 62' and is it is now in the driveway.
Came out of Roswell, New Mexico (Good ol' dry dusty desert truck) the Good: Already changed over to a front coil suspension, power steering, power brakes, 350/TH350, disk front, drum rear 5 lug all around, HEI, Steering column changed out to a 80's chevy truck, The the bad: wood bed is rotted out, Body has been sanded down and put in primer, some light surface rust showing, power steering leaking, wrong Qjet ( runs a bit rich) I am looking forward to participating on this board, and getting some good information from you the experts on these model years. Was over on the 67 - 72 portion before, sold my 68 SWB step now that I found what I was looking for ( The wife won't let me have too many toys.) These are all new to me, looking to eventually do a body off custom resto, with a suspension drop etc. Derek Franz |
