help
does anyone have a qjet type carb for sale for cheap? Ive been having problems with my truck lately. thought it to be a vacuum leak. but I believe it is the carb taking a crap dive. I put a supposed right baseplate gasket on the carb and it ran like a dream for about 4 mins. then I went to turn right at a red light. and it died on me* like it had been* and I tried to start it, got it to run. but acted like it was on one cylinder and throwing black exhaust. so that tells me its just pouring raw gas down there. anyway long story about 30 mins and 1/2 mile *just went around the block to test it* later I got home. and noticed that when I was trying to back up. the exhaust was diesel black. I took out a couple sparkplugs and they were black. the cleanest they've been from oil. but none the less black and smelled of gas. so I put on the gasket that I changed and it runs under its own power. but still far from befor the problem started. and this is the only running car at the moment. and am acutaly looking for a new car if I cant get this thing runing well enoguht to get us by. thank you very much for your help. I am at my last hopes. matt
