Towing with an '86

My truck: rusty '86 K10 long fleet, 305, 4-speed stick, 2.73 gears, hitch ball mounted on rear bumper. AFAIK it doesn't have any towing-specific extras, and some of the frame support braces are not in the best of shape.

A friend wants to know if I'd be able to pull a car dolly carrying a '79 Trans Am (roughly 3850-4000 lbs). We'd be going about 40 miles and taking the back roads to avoid traffic and go slow.

So should I help him out? There's food and beer for me in it, but I don't want to endanger myself or other drivers if my truck's not up to the task. Thanks!

Brad
