Angry Hard Starting

I was driving my truck the other day when the gas pedal was sticking, so I gave it a push and she hit the floor! I let it go for a little ways(just for fun) and then shut it down. I found that my accelerator cable had kinked. I got it home and changed it out with one from a 78 chevy truck, but now it's hard to start and feels a bit like it wants to flood when I'm sitting a stop sign. I checked the timing and played with my carb a bit but it's still doing it. What's going on?
