I learned something about .......
Well a while back I made a post about "GQ" having issues after short trips,
it would die and smell like gas, like it was flooded, today we figured it out, and this will blow you away, at least it did me, so I carried it Wednesday afternoon to get my exhaust ran, 15 minutes into my 22 minute trip, you guessed it, she died, after about 10 minutes she started and I got her in to the shop w/out any other issues, Thursday we ran the exhaust, there is a thread w/ pic's for this on this board, Today we bled the brakes and tried to figure out the issue I was having, so we adjusted the fuel press. regulater from 8.5 down to 6, drove it around the block w/ out any issues but it was a short trip, like 5 minutes, so I suggested we check the timing, 10 minutes into the timing thing she died, oops I almost forgot, she was giving us 25 degrees at idle and 60 degrees of total timing, wtf ???, any who, she would run a lil, we would try to pull the timing down and she'd just die again, and everytime it died it reaked of fuel, like mentioned in my first thread a while back, after 2.5 hours of adjustments, flooding, and timing issues it finally quit / would not start, we had lost all spark, started checking every lil spot for spark issues and low and behold the coil had detenated, top was blown half way off, it was so hot that you could not even hold it w/out gloves, that's hot, so we called and got us another MSD BLASTER 2 coil and you guessed it, she purs like a lil tiger, cranked her up on 2 degrees of timing, set her at 8 degress w/ a 30 degree total timing, now she runs better than ever, what a day
