Longhorn update
A couple of you are actually interested in this engine swap, and a few of you are responsable for it. (at least my wife blames you guys for it anyways)
I FINALLY got the Ponticrap out of there, and it was pretty interesting. I always thought the engine looked a little off center in the frame rails, and it was. They had installed 1/2 inch spacers inbetween the motor mounts and engine block on the drivers side. I guess that is one to put i the back of my head for the caddy engine if it becomes an issue. Here are some pics. Here it is magicly rising from the framerails.  Yeah, it's one of those rent-a-hoist units. Pretty cool to use, but a PITA to back up with.(and I towed trailers for 7 years in the army...these are just real short trailers). You can see my 'gentle persuassion bar'.Heh heh heh.... I love that thing. |
