Rear Disc Kit is installed!

I ordered up a complete 14 Bolt FF disc conversion kit from Blackbird's about a week and a half ago. I received everything a couple of days ago. I pressed all of the wheel studs out and removed the massive drums. I cleaned up the hubs with a die grinder and some 3M roloc discs and gave them a quick coat of paint. I then ran down to AutoZone and picked up a couple wheel seals and thought I was set. That was until I removed the old wheel seals and inspected the bearings. They were toast. Galling, pitting, etc. Not good. Went back to AutoZone and bought all new bearings and seals and got all of those installed. I work for a company owned by AutoZone, so I get a discount on parts when they have them in stock....... ugh. I was expecting it to be a pain, but it really went together nicely after freezing the races.

Overall this kit is awesome. It fit perfectly. No cheap spacers, VERY solid mounts. It won't be going anywhere. I still have to plumb the lines after my new stainless hardline kit shows up, but I think this truck is going to stop on a dime. I ordered up a DISC/DISC proportioning valve from GMC Pauls, along with Skyjacker stainless braided lines, new booster, new master. I also went with GMC Pauls new rear E-Brake cable kit for the Eldorado calipers. Basically the entire brake system will be new with exception of the pedal assembly.

Next up is the 6" Skyjacker Soft Ride lift kit with front and rear springs. I'm also going to pull the differentials out, clean them up and apply a nice coat of paint to make the under-carriage look better than it does today. I'll be installing Hummer H2 wheels with Pro Comp Xterrain's, 35x12.50x17's.
