I'm baaaaack!! Progress begins once again!
After many, many, many months of pushing the 68 farther in the corner, I got a shot of adrenalin on Monday. One of the local paint shops had expressed interest in buying the box off of the 68 many months ago. He finally called me on Monday wondering if I still had it. Told him I did, and we agreed on a price. I delivered it to him yesterday morning, and after unloading it, we started talking about the other two parts trucks that I have (68 4x4, and a 70 C10). He wants them both. We had already talked about him fixing the hail dings in the roof of the cab. That really what has been my hang-up. I hate trying to fix that kind of stuff. I know that if I do it, it will NEVER look right. I've gone too far with this truck to start getting sloppy. he siad he would have his guys fix it, no probloem. Just bring it by. I have a better than good feeling that if I offer him both of my other trucks, I can get the remaining body work and paint done. And considering that every body panel other than the cab, grill, and cowl are new Goodmark parts, it should be easy going as far as body work goes. I will definately pre-assemble the truck to make sure everything fits right first. So now I am excited once again! I knew all along that the bigest hold up would be the body work and paint. Metal work, no problem. Assembly, no problem. But me and the mud jus' don't get along!! I hope to have some pics up soon once the cab goes back on the frame.
