New Guy

I just picked up a 71 short stepside a couple weeks ago.
It's a rust bucket, but it was cheap. It's a 250 6cyl and 3 speed manual. Two options came on the truck, extra gauges and a rear bumper.
I've already started cleaning it up and taking apart the bed.
I also have a 94 Caprice wagon and got a lot of great info from the Impalassforum.com while working on that car.
I'm hoping to get the same type of info here for my truck.
I haven't totally decided what the plan is for it.
On one hand it's all original (except the shifter was moved to the floor), and I'm thinking restoration to original glory.
On the other hand it would be great to have a classic look and a modern drivetrain (say an LT1 and all from a 9C1 cop car).
I'll take some picture before I tear it apart and as I work on it.
And so it begins!!
