Oil gauge ok? How to wire batt gauge?

Is there a way to test it? At idle, mine is showing a little over half. Anything above idle RPM pegs it. PO said that the motor has a high flow oil pump. I do NOT want to put aftermarket gauges in. Unless I get one of the dash covers with them built it Just curious if this is normal for the oil gauge reading.
Batt gauge. My alternator has been upgraded to a single wire and the external reg has been eliminated. What is the correct way to wire up the batt gauge for this setup?
