Trying to remove dash pad.

I give. How does this thing come off anyway. I got a philips screwdriver out and poked it into the holes in the face of the pad and there are no fasteners in there. (removed/and or lost by prior owner?) I can lift the face straight up slightly, but it seems that there are maybe some other fasteners holding it down???
I didn't crawl under the dash to look and I went after the more obvious glovebox door and such.
I would imagine it must be something fairly simple, I thought I would ask before braking something .
