Angry Steering Wheel Help

I have a 70 chevy that I need to get the sterring wheel plate off. The only problem is that is thought I knew how but I was wrong. The three bolt holes that are in the steering mount are stripped and I want to replace it. But how to I get if off. I am no even sure that the steering column is origional any help please. Auto Zone have me a puller for a retainer plate but it will not thread onto the center column bolt.

thanks
